Code of conduct for EO Orange County WhatsApp and social media channels

Members

WhatsApp is for current EO Orange County members and Strategic Alliance Partners (SAPs) only.

Respect

All Members should treat each other with respect and dignity, avoiding any offensive, abusive, or harassing behavior

Protect Privacy

Members should not share personal information, such as phone numbers or addresses, without consent. They should also respect the privacy of others by avoiding sharing sensitive information without permission.

Be Mindful of Language

Members should use language that is appropriate for all ages and cultures, avoiding offensive, vulgar, sexual, sexual inuendo, or hate speech. Members should not use language that is discriminatory, sexist, racist, or harmful in any way. Members should not engage in bullying, harassing, or threatening behavior towards others.

Non-Solicitation

Members should not send unsolicited messages or share irrelevant content. Solicitation occurs when an EO member or SAP promotes their business, event, or cause (no matter how relevant / important) to members without a specific request from those members.This includes excessive or repetitive messages, or commercial advertising. If you would like to post something that you feel might be as viewed as solilicitation, please ask prior to posting.

Reporting Violations and Moderation

Report violations: If a Member witnesses a violation of this code of conduct, they should report it to our Chapter Managers Jessica Raczka or Ashley Martinez. If in violation, the post will be removed.

Moderation: Social media and WhatsApp channel will be moderated by the Chapter Managers and specific members of the current serving board (Marketing Communications Chair, President Elect / Governance Chair, and President). If a post is deemed in violation the post will be removed and the member will be notified.

Complaint Procedures

Upon receiving a complaint of a Member’s post, the Chapter will conduct an investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, the Chapter will determine whether this policy or the EO Code of Conduct has been violated. If violated, the post may be removed and the member may be subject to EO Governance measures, including but not limited to placement on probationary status, mandated training as a condition of continued access to the WhatsApp chat, or suspension or termination from Chapter membership.
